Proposal: Extinction Event

Timed out 1 vote to 3. Failed by Kevan.

Add a new dynastic rule to the ruleset, called The Quiet Village:

If at any time all Villagers are Unconscious or Lifeless, and no Villager has Achieved Victory, then the dynasty ends with no winner; start a new dynasty with no emperor, by posting an Ascension Address with no content, and then repeal all dynastic rules, including this one.

We’re late in the dynasty with no VC on the books; given that metadynasties are failure states it might be time to set a fire and force a compromise.

I’d rather see a tiebreak in that (not impossible) situation, even just random among those of us who’d stuck with the dynasty.

Just to be clear (because I haven’t seen this work out before), that would leave Habanero as the Emperor, correct?

Seconding Kevan, on preference for a tiebreaker.

Thirding on tiebreaker preference

Having a tiebreaker is likely a big enough change to this proposal that it should probably do done as a new proposal to compete. I’d make that proposal myself, but I have a preference towards this one.

Just to note that this doesn’t prevent a tiebreaker; it’s being proposed on the assumption that a concrete victory mechanic will be put in place, that can and should include a dedicated tiebreaker of its own.
