Proposal: Galileo Figaro

Times out/passes 5-0. Enacted by Brendan.

In the “Lightning” Arcana effect, replace “Masks have no further effect in this Game. (This currently means that Arlecchino, Di Paolo and Pedrolino masks will have no effect.)” with:-

Masks have no effect in this Game after it has started, and the Pedrolino Mask effect does not apply for this Game.

The “currently…” list of Masks is already out of date, and seems to shake out incorrectly for the claim it makes about Pedrolino (the 3-point Pedrolino bonus isn’t a “further effect” after Lightning is applied, it happens at the same time as it, as part of the atomic).

Is this supposed to retroactively invalidate earlier plays that relied on the mask effect?

No, it’s not.

(Current games are played under their own Environments, so this rule change won’t affect them.)

I meant, for example, an Arlecchino may play a card twice, then a Lightning, which as written here would make their second play of that card invalid, which would invalidate the opponent’s next play. The other intervening plays would remain valid, but the score claims for each of those plays would (probably) all be wrong.

Of course, the savvy Arlecchino can claim the “wrong” number of points the first time around… very tricky.

@Bucky This is modifying the effect of Lightning when it’s in the Grand Canal, not in the play
