Proposal: I Know You’re Out There

Add the following to Road Map

A Type of Stop is Due if it appears in the list of Stop Effects, but is not a Type for any of the ten latest stops (i.e. those stops with the highest order number). When randomly selecting Types while creating a Stop, if any Types of Stop are due the GPS or Tripper creating the Stop should only consider Due Types of Stop. For the purposes of this action, a Type of Stop is no longer Due once it has been selected while creating a stop (meaning if only one type of stop is due, it will be selected and then the second type will be selected from all available stop types, while if more than one type of stop is due a different due type of stop will be selected second)

Feel like if we randomly go a while without seeing a certain type of stop, we should weight things to make sure it shows up.

TyGuy pointed out that the “list of Stop Effects” might not be clearly defined. Probably better to have that discussion now than wait until this becomes a rule and then have it over a CfJ

“Stop Effects” is a rule name, so it’s flavor text, and maybe it can’t be referenced as though “Stop Effects” were a noun. This could mean this rule would have no effect until fixed.

But looking back through the rules, you could also argue that if a Stop has an effect that would be called a “Stop effect”, and since we’ve already been using the phrase in several places, (I did a search before, and somehow missed that,) I guess it’s probably fine to add one more example.

Oh look the two people working together and thus more in control of what is going on in the dynasty are against this.

Seems like a good reason for everyone else to support it as a means of pushing back against them. Imagine they seen something that worries them

I’ve just buddied up with Josh to get some benefit from the car-sharing rule.

If this is the same scam you told Josh about the last time you tried to urgently add some Kiosks (“fun fact there is still a scam you can use / but we need a kiosk to do anything with it / oh wait this isn’t my chat with josh”), he hasn’t shared it with me, and for all I know you and he are still planning to use it.

Perhaps it’s a one-person scam that he knows that you’d be able to use before he could, since you’re one stop behind him on the road. And you want to guarantee there’s a Kiosk on the board before you take your turn.

I’ve swapped out my later pending proposal (which was just fixing some mechanical ambiguity) to remove Kiosks, in case this is what’s happening.

Raven1207: you should consider not voting for this proposal, as it may be building up to a scam that will let Clucky win the dynasty.
