I went to a shadowy government facility but all I got was this stupid shirt. [The End]

Per “Attainment”, this Dynasty has reached a conclusion, without any Focus-based interference.

I’ve performed some calculations. To my knowledge, Cuddlebeam has attained victory.

Good game.

If I was allowed to make a Proposal, I’d make an Artefact called The Stupid Shirt. The time has passed.

So, I couldn’t have accomplished all of this without help, I’d like to thank card, Duke and Darknight.

I started out trying to play solo, and I really really didn’t want to make my gamestate so different than everyone else’s on Jan 15th, especially with such a big positive connotation (having a lot of Artefacts), because I knew that would put a huge bullseye on my head and I’d be roasted by Proposals. Which ended up happening, later on (by necessity of the competition, really).

Early on, I proposed an alliance to Josh, but things didn’t end up really meshing because it felt uncompetitive to have the only two active players (at the time) be in a team.

I intended initially (before all of the veterans joined) to win by sneaking in a scam at the last moment, seeing how obscure and weird the Ruleset was, and how easy it was to introduce more weirdness because that was just the dynasty’s theme. For example, the Lego Brick trick. But I ended up failing a Reality reset TWICE in a row to get that damn thing lol, and Tan got it instead.

Eventually a whole lot of veterans joined, and while I think I can sneak scams under the nose of one other veteran player, I don’t think I’d be able to under so many more well-trained noses, so I ditched the scam plan.

I don’t remember where was the conversation on the blog that lead up to me privately talking to Kevan about it (there was some back and forth in blog comments, and I couldn’t reply publicly with this information), but I still have it in my Slack conversation with Kevan on Jan 15th. I told him I knew that card could sneak into the Containment Facility and steal everything with the Tiepin trick.

Card approached me, asking what I’d give for an alliance at Jan 20th. I offered 50-50 of the mantle, and from then on we’ve been working as a team. Our initial plan was to just farm Fetal Artefacts, but that didn’t work out. However, he has been very helpful regardless, having someone to discuss and talk out strategies was great, I appreciated it a lot. Plus, we ended up doing that Containment Facility robbery later too, which was a huge hit to the Researcher wincon, plus a lot of free Artefacts for us.
Later down the line, we got so many Proposals that were aiming to nerf our position/improve the position of the competition. Bampam, basically. Man, those were some bad times lol. A couple of important things passed like the Sports Cap and the Glove, but before things got too bad, at some moment I got a thousand-yards stare and figured that I was going to have to play that same game if I was going to have a chance to win.

I approached Jumble at first, because he had the Sports Cap. He declined. I approached Tantusar, who was the other richest guy, and he also declined.

Then I approached Duke and Darknight, and they both accepted for a slice of the Emperor pie - 15% and 10%. I initially just cut this out of my own victory percentage, but card later gave me 10% of his own, so we ended up with 35% (me) and 40% (card) which seems fair to me (I didn’t feel like bothering over 2.5% here and there or whatever because it felt too petty, it’s just so little).

With now 4 players on the team, I was finally able to control the Proposal side of things, and while it’s not Quorum (and it should never be), it was enough pressure to alter the course of enactments.

The first Proposal that had Duke/Darknight interference was https://blognomic.com/archive/fondue_party , and from then on I started to try to figure out scenarios that would prevent my victory and ways to avoid it, and I used Proposals to plug those scenarios.

All four of us (Collectors) guessed The Glove on Captures, in case they were trying to get it via that.

Darknight used Magnetism to get an Artefact. Either The Pencil or The Glove itself would be fantastic (50% chance, the others were The Cuppa and The Radio), and he got The Pencil, which he promptly used to erase the Sports Cap.

Duke was on his “grand tour” lmao, to keep delaying that 16 hour timeframe for Locating Artefacts so that nobody could RNG The Glove that way.

Of course, Tantusar could have just Marble’d The Glove to himself, which I’m surprised he didn’t end up doing after all of this time.

He still had the Lego Brick infinite damage thing I had planted ages ago though, but that was easy to remove, because it was an infinite loop scam.

But even with so much removed, there was still a way for Tantusar to screw me. He could still use Reality resets to try to hit 10 Spatial Damage to force himself into the Warp and reach me. So I proposed 4cus to prevent that. And I think that was the last avenue to my loss that I had to remove.

All in all, very intense lol. A lot more complex than any other dynasty that I’ve played, and I’ve learned quite a lot from it, despite it being very unpleasant to play at times.

An argument could be made that I shouldn’t have needed to split my mantle so much in order to win, but I think that, versus players as competent and veteran as Josh, Tantusar and Brendan, I had to trade mantle cloth for firepower in order to win at all.

Again, thanks, card, Duke and Darknight.

The flurry of bad-faith “victory” proposals looks even worse in the light of this timeline, as do the lengthy protests about bampam being poor play. The aggrieved mantle of “minority” is quite a choice of garment when you control a plurality.

I didn’t control a plurality at the time of that happening, which is why I’ve added dates.

(I did later on of course, I figured I’d attempt to play the Proposal game too instead of complaining)

In your own words, you had no desire to “enter the Proposalling game” as of 30 January. Less than 24 hours later, you made it clear in Slack that you believe there are permanent social consequences for any form of dishonesty in gameplay, and less than 24 hours after that, you had a plurality that included a newly unidled player well in hand, which led directly to the endgame through vote control. My condolences on your reluctant and begrudging victory; may you be freed from such punishments in future.

I fully admit that while I still find Proposal play annoying, I decided to go for it too once there didn’t seem to be any stop to it.

I admitted it publicly too once Josh called me out on it (I think it was obvious anyways once I made that Proposal), I’m open about it.

Punish me if you want. I’m being open-hearted about what happened. I was a dick, yes.

But I stopped complaining and started to play your same game. Let me know if that’s wrong.

Messaged on Slack, I dont want to keep on escalating the salt. I apologize for having been so toxic in play.

So, Kevan… Why did the second Capture fail, after all?

No Researchers sent instructions for it.

I’m even more puzzled by the Collectors all selecting “Glove”, now, if they were working together and could have agreed to target four different Artefacts.

Also, redaction on the the Strong Gin was over the fact that it converted Reality Damage into Flesh Damage.

Madrid:

It was to increase the chance of hitting The Glove in case a Researcher-then-Collector was going for it
