Proposal: Iconic Cleanup

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 07 Jul 2011 05:06:56 UTC

In “Icons”, replace

The Announcer may change the image of any Icon at any time.

with

The Announcer may change the image of any Icon at any time.  The Announcer may assign or unassign any Icon at any time, and must update the “Key” section of “The Arena” to reflect any such changes.

What happened to restricting the power of the Announcer?

Yoda: My complaints about inappropriate Announcer power relate to having power over the Core Ruleset.  Influence over the dynastic ruleset is expected.

against If the Announcer unassigned an Icon from a Gladiator who was in the Arena, we would be left with a Gladiator who had an untracked location. We should really add that the Gladiator is also removed from the Arena and becomes Resting, but that starts sounding like too much arbitrary power to give to the Announce.

Is this proposal just to make it easier to tidy up future Icon abuse?

Why would they need to become resting? Wouldn’t it be easier just to say that the announcer needs to pick a new icon after unassigning one? That way the only arbitrary power is cosmetic.
