Proposal: If you clean a wall, that doesn’t make a door

Timed out and failed, 2-3 with one unresolved DEF. Josh

In “Effects”, create a new list titled “Walls” after the “Threats” list. Move the definitions of the “The north exit is blocked”, “The east exit is blocked”, “The west exit is blocked”, and “The south exit is blocked” effects to the Walls list.

In “Purification”, change

If a Purified room contains a feature or effect, any Vampire Lord or Richardo von Nestor may remove it.

to

If a Purified room contains an Effect in the “Threats”, “Opportunities” or “Glyphs and Sigils” category, any Vampire Lord or Richardo von Nestor may remove it.

and the other instance of

If a Purified room contains a feature

to

If a Purified room contains an Effect in the “Threats”, “Opportunities” or “Glyphs and Sigils” category

In “Effects”, in the paragraph containing “Offer a Prayer to Penolpa”, change

remove any of its effects

ro

remove each of its Effects in the “Threats”, “Opportunities” and “Glyphs and Sigils” categories

Making it so that Purifying a room doesn’t cause its walls to collapse (many people on Slack thought that this would be a good idea).

walls should be removed (otherwise you could wind up with empty death traps where Richardo just bounces around forever), and taking *ONE* person who suggested maybe leaving walls “many people on Slack thought that this would be a good idea” is a rather annoying distortment of the truth

Two people (Jumble and Josh) thought it was a good idea, so I proposed it because they were both out of slots.

Josh literally said the opposite, that purification should only remove threats, and walls are a threat.

Might be worth adding Walls to the list of things that make a room Daunting: under the current rule, Richardo will helpfully be Daunted if he ends the run stuck in an (otherwise boring) dead end, because blocked exits are Threats.

another reason this is a bad idea:

Sepulchres currently offer an expensive form of counter play to room construction. If someone manages to say, drop their sepulchre in A3, and then put a east wall in A2, a north wall in B3, and a west wall in A4 then while they are fairly safe, someone could attack this safety by placing their own sepulchre in B3 which would eventually collapse that room allowing for a new room to come up that allows entrance into A3.

if A2, B3 and A4 all become purified… suddenly that doesn’t work. You have zero counterplay (short of getting really lucky with a blood frenzy)

against I think this is not a net benefit for me.

I would vote for this but I think it’s probably got a tactical dimension so I’m going to stay out of it.
