Add in the following paragraph after the first paragraph in the “Habitat” section of the rules

A cell is adjacent to another if it shares a side with that cell. A cell is crosswise to another if it does not share a side but does share a corner. A cell is 8-adjacent to another if it is crosswise or adjacent.

Add to the list of possible organ states in the rule “Anatomy”

Stingers: An Organ may spend one blonium to move a mobile neighbor that is in the same cell as the Organ’s Creature into an adjacent cell of the organ’s choosing that does not contain a vent or brine pool.

Add to the rule “Neighbors”

Notes have been obsoleted. Also there’s nothing wrong with adj8cent, it tells you that the surrounding 8 squares are the valid ones.

“A cell is adj8cent to another if it is crosswise or adjacent.” This is confusing, you should use additional words if you want to define multiple types of adjacency. Also, if we’re only using NSEW adjacency, I don’t see a point to defining eight-directions adjacency. We can do it in another proposal if we decide to use it.

I don’t see any reason in not having it defined, in case someone wants to use it. If you only want to use NSEW adjacency then perhaps a proposal to that effect is in order.
