Proposal: More Bait More Switch

Revisable, 1-0 with 2 REVISE votes. Failed-revise by JonathanDark.

In the rule “Preparation”, add a row to the table with the following text;

|-
! Plant Decoy
|
* The unique type and trait of an Artifact that exists in the publicly tracked list of Artifacts
* The letter of a Spot that meets all of the following criteria:
** Is not an Ingress or a Station
** Is not Connected to an Ingress or a Station
** Is not the Location of an Artifact
** Is not the target of another unresolved Plant Decoy
|| Onsite || If the Agent is a Guard, the Location of the specified Artifact is privately tracked by the Concierge to be the Spot specified in that Plant Decoy action rather than the original Location of that Artifact, but the publicly tracked Home of that Artifact remains unchanged. If the Agent is not a Guard, this Prep has no Effect.

A revised version of the earlier Bait and Switch proposal that fits with the latest revision to Preparation.

So these restrictions make the action almost literally unusable: the only spot on the map that is not an Ingress or Station, and is not connected to an Ingress or Station, is B. You might as well make this a “move an Artifact to spot B” action – it’d be simpler and easier to read.

(You probably want to remove the “is not connected to an Ingress or Station” restriction.)

for Having an Artifact at B worked pretty well for the Burglars last time, so I’m happy with this :D

(Another issue I see: Two Guards can Plant a Decoy for the same Artifact, and in that case it’s not clear to me where it ends up.)

arrow I agree that “is not connected to an Ingress or Station” should be removed. If this provides too much variety in location options, changing it to a simple “is not connected to a Station” allows for more Spots to be chosen while also ensuring that Guards cannot immediately reach the Artifact’s new spot, allowing for more counterplay. I disagree with Qenya’s concern- I think two Guards attempting to Plant a Decoy for the same Artifact is covered under “Is not the target of another unresolved Plant Decoy”.

Shame we didn’t see this problem the first time around.

Ok, I’ll try this again with a third revision, if that’s acceptable

There’s no limit on how many times you can revise one proposal, but you can only submit 3 proposals per day even if you revise-withdraw some of them.
