Proposal: No Invisibility Cloaks!

Add the following after the 1st paragraph of “2.4 Icons”:

A valid icon is one that is not in use by any other Entity or the icon representing an “Empty” square.

So, looking at Yoda’s icon I realized, he’s kind of hard to see. You would have to check the GDNT to find his location, which renders The Arena page useless. Very funny Yoda. Also, the reason I said “the icon representing an ‘Empty’ square” was just in case it was changed from “IconEmpty.png”

for This doesn’t actually force Yoda to change his icon, though - the rules only check that an Icon is “valid” when you first choose one.

Nothing stopping hom from copy-pasting the same icon, or near-identical icon.  Further, since the announcer can already change icons at will but players may only assign themselves icons if they have none, the announcer can easily just pick icons from the key and swap them as needed to fix any such abuse.

for I was just doing it to keep others from doing it per my comment on Public Icons.  And as you can see from the GNDT, I am still resting.

I do apologize, but I was not trying to trick anyone but trying to avoid someone else taking advantage of it.

oh no I think we understand that you were just demonstrating the bug. Thank you very much yoda! You are quite clever!

Doctor29:

yes, well, still. if anyone wants to go to the trouble of replicating the icon with a minor change, then let the announcer deal with it. Hopefully, however, this would discourage new or unidling gladiators from creeping around unseen

for On one hand, this is very easy to subvert. On the other, the Announcer can take care of that, and he can use this as a guideline.
