Nuts & Bolts Question

Hello everyone,

I have a question about Clucky’s last comment on the DoV (which is now closed, so I couldn’t post it there):

“ah fair enough. shame the trading mechanic never got used. I blame the fact that no one voted on my bigass proposal to add lots more interesting pies so it technically failed despite having no against votes.”

Wouldn’t such a proposal have passed by a 1-0 vote, because the proposer is assumed to vote Yes?

No, from rule 1.4, Proposals on the situations in which a proposal can be passed:

*It has a number of FOR Votes that exceed or equal Quorum, has been open for voting for at least 12 hours, and has not been Vetoed or Self-Killed.
*It has been open for voting for at least 48 hours, it has more than 1 valid Vote cast on it, more valid Votes cast on it are FOR than are AGAINST, and it has not been Vetoed or Self-Killed.

Proposals that can’t be passed must therefore be failed.
