In the rule 3.2 “Gamestate Tracking”, change “If no Organ has commented on it, or if the only comments on it begin with “Note:” and contain no voting icons, an official post may be altered or removed by its author;” to
An official post may be altered or removed by its author if it is less than six hours old and either no Organ has commented on it or all comments on it contain no voting icons;
Note: On the other hand, this doesn’t require everyone to use good etiquette and say “Note” before every comment.
Note: Proposal age is shown in the sidebar. I think it’s fine. This also prevents editing the proposal with no comments at the last minute to say “I win” but I only know of one time when that happened.
Creates a potential surprise for official posts that use comments but not actual votes (like last dynasty’s remedy-takings), but this can be patched.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
