Proposal: Preventing Time Traveling Items

Self-killed. Josh

Adminned at 03 Jun 2012 02:49:57 UTC

Add a new Dynastic Rule to the Ruleset. Call it “Temporal Barrier” and give it the text:

No entity from any Dynasty prior to Dynasty 100 may move to any other Dynasty. If a Time Monk comes into possession of such an entity while in a Dynasty prior to Dynasty 100, then leaves, the entity remains. The Time Monk reassumes ownership of the entity upon their return to that Dynasty.

I think that “Entity” requires more definition, but I’m not sure how to go about it. It’ll take me a bit of time to become fluent in the language used in these proposals. Thanks in advance for having patience with me.

FYI, you don’t need to vote on your own proposals - your vote is assumed to be FOR, unless you chose to vote AGAINST to self-kill.

In this instance,  against, because I quite like having items travel from one dynasty to another. Sometimes it will be useful, often it won’t, but at the end of it each player’s Items field will be full of artefacts from their travels.

against per Josh, although the current Inventory rule (“Each Time Monk also has a GNDT field entitled “Inventory”, which is used for any Dynasty that contains an item-ownership mechanic.”) implies that if a Monk is in a dynasty which has no item-ownership mechanic, that field is not “used”.

Good things to know.  I was aiming to combat the CHICKEN problem brought up earlier. I suppose my method didn’t fit with what Josh was going for. Ah well!  against
