Proposal: Proposals are Your Friend

Vetoed. -Bucky

If the proposal “Virtual Victories” doesn’t pass, this proposal does nothing.

Add a new dynastic rule called “Authorship” and give it the following text

At the end of every Week, if a single Student authored more proposals which were Enacted during that week than any other student, that student Scores.

This could lead to some cases where a guy votes against a proposal just to prevent someone else from scoring, but I think in general this will encourage proposal writing and thus make for a more interesting dynasty. The last few have suffered due to not enough proposals if you ask me.

I hope it goes without saying that admins should not intentionally delay admining a proposal until a week ends just for the sake of affecting who scores.

against Writing successful proposals is not the same as making an interesting dynasty; the best strategy to unlock this Score would be to make as many small, unobjectionable fixes as possible.

against  per Kevan, with the addition that admins can abuse timing privelages around week boundaries.

I don’t have a problem with Kevan’s objection. The illusion of activity can make a fine promoter of actual activity.

against I have to agree with Kevan. Just because a proposal is enacted, it doesn’t mean it’s actually good. Plus, for small fixes, first one to actually get around to proposing a working fix gets it.

@Kevan true, but it still would be better than what we had last dynasty. There are 6 proposals made after this… again better than we’ve had in a while. Seems likely to me part if that is people going “well if that proposal passes I should start writing proposals”

@Bucky - like I stated, it should go without saying that admins shouldn’t abuse this as its clearly against fair play.

for Also, how much abuse can there be if each rule can only Score each Student once per Dynasty?

Additional objection: this would be a major bookkeeping headache.

I think it would be a problem too soon.
Maybe later in the game?

Actually, if I’m not yet on Quorum, I can’t vote, right?
Just saw that, sorry.

On second thought I shouldn’t allow this.  Every way to Score should have someone clearly responsible for bookkeeping it, whether it’s the person making the score-triggering blog post or (in the case of the arrow  proposal) the enacting admin.
