Proposal: Purgatory

Vetoed as the new Dynasty rolls in
Failed by Hix

[ Regarding Spike’s “just trying to be cute” Burma-Shave joke, I think Ghosts should be more careful about giving away any such potential information. ]

After the first paragraph of Rule 2.6 (Dead Men Tell No Tales), add:-

The Mayor may deduct Acuity Points from any villager who he feels has broken this rule. Such deductions shall be revealed at the game end.

for Just remember that the wording of the rule is what needs to be violated, not the intent.

Is this just your earlier dislike of the whole Dead Men rule, or is there a problem with adding this paragraph to it?

I don’t think it was a violation, but thy will be done, Mayor.

Please limit the number of Acuity Points lost in this manner to a maximum of 1 per infraction.

I don’t know, if you’re too specific about this sort of thing then you encourage exploitation, which seems bad. (“Well, I’m pretty sure I’ve got at least three more Acuity than anyone else; I’ll just post a ghostly blog entry telling everyone to lynch Bucky.”)

I wouldn’t sap all of a player’s Acuity for a single slip of the tongue, the same way that I haven’t been abusing the “in his opinion” clause of Acuity rewards.

Also, if a living villager impersonates a dead villager to gain information, this proposal would place the blame squarely on the dead villagers he fooled.

Hmm…
I’m not sure about this one. This doesn’t stop the Mayor from deducting more or less Acuity points based on his current mood. Methinks I’ll abstain.

The ruleset already allowed me to assign Acuity points entirely based on my mood.

True. I stand corrected.
