Rampaging monsters and rebuilding

Any ideas on how to handle monsters fighting? I’d think something based on their initial threat rating, and a random factor. The result can wound a monster, and of course, destroy buildings. Adding in an army would be fun. Please post your suggestions!

Hmm, Kev has a link for a game called Rumble that the base rules of life, power and defence might be able to work. Each monster would have 100 or more life to start and 100 points to split between attack power and defending. like 65 in attack and the rest to defend. If attack is less then no damage. If its greater then damage = to difference. Rough idea but sounds useable

Hmm… perhaps! I’ve always wanted to play Rumble, too.

Nice. This could be a nice starting frame for combats. i hope the others like the idea

I was also thinking about letting the monsters, every 5 battle turns or so, use a special attack like Godzilla’s breath beam. Such an attack would either add 10 damage to a hit’s damage total or just 5 damage if defended, since the flesh of the defender would still be burned. Again, this is kinda build and go lol.

I would like combat to be unrelated to threat rating.

What I would really like is for statistics and abilities to be distributed to Kaiju Gods, who can then chose which of their monsters is to be the benefactor.

I agree with you Josh. Using something like Rumble would be neat, I think, and fun, if it could work.

Agreed josh. I’ve seen weaker monsters beat stronger ones in many movies so threat level shouldn’t be used in any fights here
