Proposal: Scores on the Doors

Withdrawn. Failed by Kevan.

In “Fates”, replace “Each Fate has a level of Influence, which is privately tracked by the Linguistics Team. Any time an Argument is enacted, the Influence of the Fate of the Argument’s Author increases by 1. ” with:-

Each Fate has a level of Influence. Those levels are privately tracked by the Linguistics Team, but the values of each of those levels (without saying which Fate they correspond to) are publicly tracked. For each Argument which has been enacted, the Linguistics Team should - once per Argument - increase the Influence of the Fate of the Argument’s Author by 1.

Set the Influence of each Fate to zero.

The invisible scoring is maybe a bit too murky here: what’s been happening?

(The reset to zero is intended as the simplest way to handle changing Influence from something that’s privately tracked and magically-but-not-actually updated when someone other than the Linguistics Team enacts an Argument, into something that the Team updates when they can.)

Just to confirm I’m reading this right, does this essentially let you track which members are on a given team by letting you see which users increase a given level of influence when their arguments are accepted? Or am I misreading it?

Oh, hum, good point, it would. I suppose there’s no limit on how long Josh can wait or what order he processes Arguments in, but it’d still discourage player activity, to some extent.

I don’t have the time to consider amendments right now, so I’ll just withdraw this.
