Note: As much as I think basic logic implies that it can’t be no day at all, I can’t find issue with this, save perhaps that I like the word instant better (time is sort of defined). Tentatively in favor in case anyone has any fixes to suggest. It is certainly a good thing this Nomic doesn’t worry about time zones much.

Note: I don’t see any rule called “Day”

Look in the appendix.

It’s a glossary entry in the rule “Keywords”, not a rule

In retrospect I’m not sure the Appendix are rules. Will hold off until someone more experiences says if this will work.

And also, when you want to replace some text in a rule, cite it precisely: there is no phrase “It can never be two days at the same instant” in the ruleset, thus there is nothing to amend

Got it.

against this is unnecessary

the reason for the “never be two” was a large dispute that transpired over an action that was time stamped at midnight and wondering which day it occurred on. hence the clarification that it can’t count as “both days”

but there isn’t a scenario where one might argue it could be three days at once or zero days at once.

against per Clucky.

Don’t worry about it, though, it’s normal for a new player’s first proposal to have some sort of fatal mistake in it.

I see your point. This was intended to prevent something like ” as a daily action, add one to XSTAT.”, and then being able to argue that because there was no rule against it being THREE days at a time, they add three to XSTAT.

The ruleset is not a constitution, in the sense that if there is no rule against X that doesn’t mean X is legal. Rather everything that is legal has to be outlined in the ruleset.

(And a Deferential vote isn’t exactly neutral, on Proposals, as it is deferring to the Editor’s judgement; a true vote of neutral is basically just not voting.)
