Proposal: Silver Bullets

Enact a new rule, ‘Silver Bullets’:

The following occupations are ‘silver-related occupations’: silversmith, goldsmith, and wiredrawer.

The following occupations are ‘gun-related occupations’: gunsmith, and gunstocker.

So long as there is at least one live villager with a silver-related occupation, and a live villager from a gun-related occupation, then the Night Watchman shall be considered to be supplied with a gun and silver bullets. If the werewolves target the Night Watchman while he is supplied with a gun and silver bullets, then the Mayor shall roll DICE10 in the GDNT before determining his death. If the result is 5 or less, then rather than the Night Watchman dying from the attack, one of the werewolves (at random) will be shot and killed instead. The Mayor shall then make a post to this effect. When revealing the list of possible werewolves to a Night Watchman who has thus survived an attack, then rather than including a random werewolf, the Mayor shall include the shot werewolf.

The way I see it, if we have a night watchman with the current rules, either a) the watchman will simply be killed the next night, or b) the night watchman is suspected of being a werewolf, and we lynch him.

This gives some pause for thought to a), and makes b) unnecessary.

ah, just realized i shouldn’t have specified the dice10, in keeping with the rest of the ruleset. figured at the time there was no reason to keep that result secret, but the mayor might have his reasons.

at this rate, the proposal will probably fail anyway, but if it doesn’t, we should probably amend that later.
