Repeal the rule “Imperial Lineage”
Four people are actively playing this dynasty and two of them can’t actually win it.
This would both give me and spyder more of a reason to keep playing, and also allow new people who think the dynasty seems interesting but weren’t playing last dynasty to join us.
Clucky’s point outweighs self-interest for me, a game of Nomic where most of the players aren’t bothering to make thoughtful moves or proposals or votes because they know they can’t win isn’t much fun.
Are we really comfortable that “aren’t bothering to make thoughtful moves or proposals or votes because they know they can’t win”, rather than other factors (Christmas, illness, the usual trend of there only being four or five players heavily invested at any given time)?
I mean, Metadynasty X did fine…
Clucky’s said they’d “support ending the dynasty early” while they couldn’t win, in a comment on Kiosk Seeding, which seemed fair enough. Everyone else who voted for the previous proposal to repeal this rule has since left the game or (in the case of TyGuy) gone pretty silent.
Hard to know what that really adds up to in terms of overall player engagement, but I don’t think this rule is helping it.
