Proposal: Swapsies

Add a new rule, “Trading”:-

Each Student has a GNDT field “Favour”, which may name one other Student or idle Student. If a Student has a non-blank Favour field, they are considered to “owe a Favour” to the Student or idle Student named in it. A Student may blank any Favour field that contains their own name, at any time.

If a Student (the “Trader”) wants to borrow a Pen that belongs to another Student (the “Tradee”), and if both the Trader and Tradee have a Pen Colour, and if the Trader does not owe a Favour, then the Trader may swap the Pen Colour values of the Trader and the Tradee, and update the Trader’s Favour field to the name of the Tradee.

Since 2.1 mentions an unwritten “Trading” rule, let’s have one.

I don’t like how trading is without permission of the Tradee.  Furthermore, the rules make it seem like trading is permanent (aka, there’s no sense of “returning” the pen back).
When the Tradee blanks his name, he effectively allows the Trader to trade further, nothing more.
I do like the idea though.  arrow

[Tee] The idea is that taking something with permission is safe (if we’ve agreed to swap pens, I’ll blank my name afterwards), but taking without it has repercussions. It’s a system of trading and a system of theft at the same time.
