@Josh Personally, I was holding back until the change to Initiating passed. I don’t know about everyone else, but that’s my reason.
I’ve been holding back because every time I try to look at the gamestate and prepare to make edits for Initiate, the wiki gets slow and I get discouraged waiting for it. Nothing much can be done about that. It seems “ok” right now, so I’ll probably go ahead and do it.
Wiki is still abit slow depending on how you’re trying to log in. It’s almost dead on my iPad but it managed to load on my cellphone so it’s definitely hit and miss so I can see why only a few of us have done much
Mostly just busy here, but looking over it I’m not seeing much advantage in having a Boat in motion, when I’m not sure where I’d want to send mine yet, and I’m feeling some mild late-mover advantage in choosing an unchosen Specialization.
Maybe it’s worth a proposal to remove the late-mover factors, I’ll put one up.
I was mainly waiting for the initial ruleset to stabalize tbh
So, uh, anyone want to fix the infinite Praxis timed action issue?
Although, technically right now the Tenet won’t work:
add one instance of Praxis to your Warehouse
Now that each City can own multiple Warehouses, which one does Praxis get added to? The Tenet will need to be fixed to read “to one of your Warehouses”, or if it can be carried out by anyone on your behalf, maybe “the first available Warehouse you own”
JonathanDark and Doomed chose the same spot on the map, so we have a Kinshaha/Brazzaland situation
Or maybe a Budapest.
Depends how much they end up deciding to like each other.
Don’t think I’m going to be online constantly enough to play this one competitively, from the way the actions are going, so I think I’ll sit it out. Quorum drops to five.
(I’m not sure what this does to Ais’s Boat’s Destination, when I stop existing as a City.)
@JonathanDark: I think it still works for someone who has exactly 1 Warehouse at the time, it just breaks for people who have more than 1.
@Josh Aw, I was hoping I could be the only one controlling the bay! It seemed like such a nice, strategic point.
@DoomedIdeas: Oops, sorry. Apparently we had the same thought!
Not feeling very well today, sorry. Will try to propose tomorrow.
I think there’s currently something of a grind issue with Josh’s Tenet – if you want to keep gaining Praxis, you have to resubmit the action as soon as it completes, which requires being online at a particular time of day.
I’m not sure what the best fix would be, though.
As for “is the ruleset already too heavy”, I think it might be – or at least, there’s a lot of complexity that doesn’t obviously translate into actions or proposals, and it’s hard to figure out what can or can’t be done in the dynasty. It might be a case of “too many hooks but none of them are fleshed out fully enough”.
It’s also very unclear what we’re working towards; at the moment I can’t envision what a victory condition would be likely to look like.
I think we might have raced ahead to manufactured resources and constructions too quickly…
Another one where the ruleset is pacing way ahead of actual play.
@Josh: DoomedIdeas doesn’t have coordinates, but you’re the only one that can correct that, since “If a City has a Location but unknown Coordinates, the Capital should set that City’s Coordinates to values that they consider to represent its Location”
Two more cities on the map - Raven1207 picking up a spot very close to the Capital, TDS slightly further away.
Josh: Capital he/they
Two thoughts:
1) Only a couple of people have Initiated. What’s holding people back? I know there’s probably a perceived late mover advantage but I thought it would be outweighed by the advantage of having your boat in the water, moving.
2) Is the ruleset already too heavy? Do some things need to be pared back?
