Replace “Each Punter has an amount of Readies, which is privately tracked by the Bookie and which defaults to 100.”, with:-
Each Punter has an amount of Readies, which is privately tracked by the Bookie; this amount may be negative, and defaults to 100.
A player betting carelessly and ending up in the red should probably be recorded as such, rather than written off.
I immediately apologize for the problematic word I used in the previous comment. If I could edit it, I would have done. It was not intentional, but certainly it was without thought of the history of the word’s usage.
I also like the idea of a side game of marshalling your team of loan sharks!
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
