Proposal: The Rule of the Mob

Add a new rule, ‘The Rule of the Mob’:

During the immediately following daytime period after a werewolf has slain a villager, any living villager may make a Town Meeting Lynching proposal by posting a proposal with the phrase ‘Town Meeting Lynching’ in its title, so long as there isn’t already a pending Town Meeting Lynching proposal. If that proposal passes, then each living Villager may cast suspicion on any number of other Villagers by making a comment to the proposal with the text “I suspect *Name*”, where *Name* is the name of any Villager with the Status Alive.  Only the most recent comment of each Villager will be counted for suspicions in this proposal, and a Villager may not cast Suspicion on any Villager more than once in a single comment. If a Villager’s Status is Dead at the time of that proposal’s enactment, then his suspicions will not be counted.

If the Town Meeting Lynching proposal passes, then change the status of the villager with the most suspicions cast against them at the time of that proposal’s enactment from alive to dead.  In the event that there is a tie for which Villager has the most suspicions cast against them, that proposal has no effect.

If the proposal ‘The Future of Zahndorf’ passes, then add the following sentence to the end of ‘The Rule of the Mob’:

No acuity points shall be awarded to anyone by the death of a villager directly (as determined by the Mayor) due to a Town Meeting Lynching proposal.

Augh, YOU DON’T NEED AN “IF THAT PROPOSAL PASSES.”  I’m all for common-sense rule interpretation, but this is really an issue of clarity and I’d like to get past it.

Also, the whole purpose of Acuity Points is that you can get them by correctly voting to lynch. against

against As Brendan. Also: limiting it to once-per-day and only-after-a-kill mean that people will just make non-meeting proposals to achieve the same ends, if there’s a proper riot in the air.

I think “let’s kill Villager X” Town Meetings are probably the way to go (with as many per day as people like); it’s better if all the discussion is in the same thread, and the target has a clearer warning that they’re up for lynching.

against s/k; i don’t like mob rule anyway, was just trying to formalize the last lynching attempt (and add the last bit to make it unrewarding)

Don’t forget that we’re all Villagers, even the Werewolves: “No acuity points shall be awarded to anyone by the death of a villager” would have meant that humans couldn’t ever gain Acuity Points.

“... due to a Town Meeting Lynching proposal.”

i intended it that way, as a way to discourage people from just making these mob lynchings without even a real target.
