Sad to see this. From the sidelines, I’d say that your faction proposal was partly just voted down by a group of cooperating players who didn’t want to risk being split up. I suspect you’ll see a successful scam in the next couple of days, which is always a more interesting way for a dynasty to end.

Kevan: Why would they be worried about splitting up since you can choose which faction you want to be in?

It’s also partly that factions tend to be a bad mechanic, as they typically lead to half the players being unable to win through no fault of their own. It doesn’t even break up cooperating players; if they end up on different factions, they’ll just nominate one player to win, and attempt to sabotage the faction they aren’t on form the inside.

Yeah, I didn’t vote it down for any reason other than I think it’s bad to introduce a faction mechanic without a lot of careful thought. And the amount of careful thought required now would extend this dynasty much longer than I feel it has left in it.

This dynasty actually has some rather interesting mechanics which are simply not being used, partly because any offensive action anyone takes costs resources and thereby weakens their defensive position, and partly because the only person who can afford to make lots of zombies (and can do so for free) only moves them once a week.

[Yoda] Once a faction rule is in place, there’s a fair chance it would be expanded to include clauses about how faction members can and can’t interact with each other. If I was planning the collaborative victory which I think is on the cards here, I’d want to keep it as a free-for-all.

At this point, I’m convinced the dynasty is doomed.  Attacking other Farmers is not viable.  A majority of Farmers, including the Landlord, are voting down all proposals that attempt to make it viable. 

The dynasty’s main mechanic is attacking other Farmers.

I just realized that for some reason several people voted for Buck*, so I wont win. Since I do not want this vote to happen, I will include a second active farmer’s name: Yoda.

I was hoping the main mechanic would be fighting off zombies, and using what resources we could spare to annoy our neighbours, but the zombies don’t seem to be too intent on attacking us…

i.e. attacking other players currently only makes sense if they’re already tied up by other zombies. Currently, most plots are either secured or almost certain to fall, so it makes no sense for us to spawn zombies there.

@Pb: Wanna coordinate an attack on some other people?

By the by, how come Buck always gets votes during these proposals? he almost always gets enough unless DC is active. anyway Darknight, cause i’d like to have a 2nd.

Because in this case, Bucky is the one who put and is putting in the effort to win.

@Darknight: Because he’s an experienced emperor, and a generally nice fellow, I assume. (Also, I’m probably not going to get another vote on one of these proposals for years, after what my dictatorship attempt in my last dynasty.)

Currently, out of 12 EVCs, 6 I think contain exactly one Farmer. Bucky is by far the most common

Bucky is right about proposals which try to add support for attacking zombies tend to be voted down.  Though really, all we need to do to make it totally viable is to kill Bombie and Molotov Cocktail.
