Proposal: Thriller

Times out and passes at 7-3. -Purplebeard

Remove the Herbivore Species and all Herbivore zombies.

Set the Attacks of the following species to these values, and change the Attacks of existing Zombies accordingly:
Wanderer: 5
Zoombie: 7
Ghoul: 8

Create a subrule to rule “Species”, “Carcass”:

* Attack: 6
* Health: 3
* Cost: 10
* Behaviour: moves to an adjacent Square of the choice of the Farmer who caused this Zombie to Shamble.

Removing the boring herbivores, beefing up the zombies so that they actually have a chance of killing stuff and adding a new species.

against against You’re calling my creation boring! I admit that in practice he’s pretty weak, though.  Wandering around aimlessly, then marching to the left seeking sunflowers, he’s probably actually much less effective than the wanderer.

As an aside, Carcass gives too much power to the Landlord.  He can summon them for free at will once per week, and then pick which players to ruin.

The problem is that herbivores take approximately forever to get close to sunflowers, so they’re more or less functionally identical to wanderers, only more expensive. They’d be much more interesting if they just moved one square closer to the nearest sunflower (in Manhattan distance, presumably).

I like that you make some Zs more usefull. I just checked them and thought that it was almost impossible to destroy anything with any one of them right now, except maybe the Bombie. Not to mention that it seems to be long until anyone gets some Juice to actually do anything useful.

Thus making the Zs more dangerous seems to be in order.

The Herbivore on the other hand is, true, useless atm. This can be corrected, though, and I like the idea of a Z going for one kind of plant only. :-)

If I only had a slot, I’d propose a newer and better(tm) Herbivore. (Sunflowerseeking is the keyword, I think.) Maybe aguydude wants to do that, though, as it was his creation?

My original thought was that the Herbivore would seek out the closest Sunflower on the current plot via Manhattan distance, but trying to define it cleanly got really complicated and I gave up.  Maybe the final else conditions should have been “moves left.”

How about: “Behavior: Herbivore moves 1 Square towards the Sunflower that it can reach with the fewest moves. If there is more than one Sunflower that are reachable with the fewest moves, a random one is determined. If there are several possible shortest routes towards the determined Sunflower, the Farmer who caused the Shemble of the Herbivore decides which of those shortest possible routes to take.”

Maybe not perfect, but workable, isn’t it?
