What if it was just one square?

If we discover the square using our eye, we get a terrain feature.  This loses us future features.

How terain features are added can always change.

Sand does often cover features.

Daily random drift would greatly overwhelm any efforts our Limbs might have gone to to get us anywhere.

I’m not opposed to tides, but I think our fellow players will add a good deal of random movement. Now, a small amount of random movement isn’t a bad thing. Say, once a week or a single square 50% of the time.

A smaller amount or less frequent change would be better
