Proposal: Time skip

Times out 5-0 with 1 unresolved DEF. Enacted by Brendan.

Adminned at 12 Aug 2022 18:00:58 UTC

Immediately after the first sentence of “Winners at War” append:

If no Operator have had their readiness changed in the last 96 hours, and no bouts are currently pending resolution, then the game has entered Tournament Mode.

Replace “On 22 August” with “On the day that Tournament Mode begins”
Replace “On 25 August” with “Three days after Tournament Mode begins”

This is basically just a way to ensure that the game’s activity doesn’t drop too low while we wait for the tournament. If absolutely everyone stops fighting, we skip the wait.

Send like a decent idea, but if people continue to stay active, this proposal actually delays the tournament indefinitely.

I’m not sure how it delays it. The previous condition for entering tournament mode still exists, this just adds a second way of entering it.

What constitutes a “bout pending resolution” for this? One that has been announced? One where one or both Operators are Set?

I’d certainly read it as the former—the case where a bout exists, but has not been resolved.

My intent was any announced bouts that aren’t finished. The point should be moot since bouts happen faster than a 4 day timescale anyway.
