Proposal: Town Meeting: Death of a Mayor

Vetoed.  Brendan

Adminned at 24 Oct 2007 15:14:27 UTC

Friends and Countrymen, the death of our esteemed mayor has angered many of us, and someone must pay for the sins of his murder.  I move that we have an investigation and kill whomever we find responsible!

Change the status of the user who has received the most suspicions from alive to dead.  A user may voice suspicions about any number of users by including the text “I suspect *username*” when voting for or against this proposal.  Only suspicions casts in the most recent of a users votes count for this proposal.  In the event of a tie in suspcions this proposal has no effect.

for I suspect Bucky. I’ve stated my case already.

against Sorry, I like to know exactly what I’m voting for.  Leaving exactly who gets killed as a variable is a bit much.

You really should specify how to deal with ties.  Since you say “the user who has received the most suspicions”, I assume that nothing happens in case of a tie (since there is no such user).  Come to think of it, what is a “user” anyway?  And once again, I still think it’s meaningless to have one of the effects of the proposal be to grant permission to make suspicions in comments (see “a user may voice suspicions…”).  By the time the proposal is enacted, it’s a little late to be voicing suspicions, no?

I suspect Kevan (for now).

against Hix is wrong about the tie mechanic, and maybe or maybe not about the order of actions, but irght about everything else.

against per Hix.  Even angry mobs ought to pick a target _before_ they grab their pitchforks and torches.

BTW: There are no users, only Villagers.  I suspect Kevan, Kevan, Kevan, Kevan, Kevan and Kevan.

Kevan can actually be a werewolf?

No: the initial werewolf assignation rule (now repealed) specifically exempted me. The nay-voters are just ensuring that nobody living will get lynched.

against Too vague.

My bad on the wording. The idea was to mimic the council of the original mafia game, which is to say, someone dies each round from the lynching, and it’s a majority vote as to who that is…so, someone dies now (because there was a killing, and we the villagers demand justice) but who it is is determined by the majority.

I should also point out that Town Meetings can only be called during the day.  It’s now night.

Oh, good point.

I rattle my ghostly chains of office.
