Proposal: Van der Baakers

Timed out. Fails 3-3—Clucky

Adminned at 22 Aug 2012 13:49:41 UTC

If the proposal “Location Location Location” (or any other proposal that implements an identical Location mechanic) passes or has already passed, then enact the following rules changes:

Add “the Netherlands” to the list of Locations, and add the following the list of Location effects:

If a Baker’s location is the Netherlands, the only daily upgrade action available to that Baker is “Input: N Apple Pies, Output: N Dutch Apple Pies,” where N is equal to the number of Apple pies the Baker has before making the upgrade.

You bring your Apple pies to the Netherlands, then they’re Dutch Apple pies. That’s just logic.

2-2 or 3-3 maybe, seems a little overpowered to let you upgrade them all.

Also I missed the “only” part there. You could wind up getting stuck in the Netherlands, which while kinda hilarious is also bad gameplay. (prevents any sort of ‘moving another guy’ mechanics because it could allow you to trap someone in ice and cold)

“(or any other proposal that implements an identical Location mechanic)” %) Proposals are enacted in the chronological order, so it’s either “Location Location Location” or none

Well basically using that dutch upgrade costs you 3 upgrades (2 to get 2 Warp pies, 1 to perform the upgrade itself), so unless you have an awful amount of apple pies, I think it’s reasonable…

Since Warp pies come by 2, getting accidentally stuck in the netherlands is quite unlikely. It doesn’t really prevent “moving another guy” mechanics, as those mechanics could be accompanied by mechanics to get free (an Ariadne Pie that’s available from any country, for instance).

Haha! The getting stuck mechanic was unintentional, but definitely hilarious. It looks like it’s a good idea to have a Warp pie on hand all the time, just in case :).

It’s certainly not an unfixable issue, nor would it be a problem for at least a few days. Especially if it becomes an issue, it can easily be amended by any of the following:

1) Allow Warp pies to be made in the Netherlands
2) Allow pie giving/trading, so other folks can help get you out
3) A new rule that says if you get stuck (Location:Netherlands with 0 Warp pies), you can switch to the Foyer in 48 hours, which represents the time it takes to walk back.

Also, n00b question: Do I have to vote for my own proposals, or is a vote in favor from me assumed as long as I don’t Self-Kill?

Its not that hard to get an awful amount of pies though koen, which is why I suggested putting the cap at 3. that way, it comes out tied if you only do it once, ahead if you stay there, but isn’t super ahead if you happen to have 8 apple pies.
