Proposal: What’s in a name?

In the rule “Dynasties”, rewrite the first paragraph,

BlogNomic is divided into a number of Dynasties. Each Dynasty is headed by a single Agent, known as the Director of Operations, and is named according to the number of Dynasties they have headed (eg. “The First Dynasty of Myke”).

to the following:

BlogNomic is divided into a number of Dynasties. Each Dynasty is headed by a single Agent, known as the Director of Operations.

The systematic labelling of dynasties we have now has some weird implications when the mantle is passed, or when emperorhood is temporarily transferred to another player. For example, because Roujo briefly ‘headed’ this dynasty, their next dynasty should rightly be called the Second dynasty of Roujo under the current wording. Several other players, like Bucky, Angry Grasshopper and Darknight have also been the emperor of other players’ dynasties, so their numbering is also off. The naming scheme we’ve been using on the wiki and headers of various dynasties is based on informal agreements and cannot be translated in a way that would satisfy the ruleset, and there is no real reason for the title of a dynasty to be gamestate, so why not track these things informally?

As I see it, I never headed a dynasty. I won one, sure, but I never was Emperor.

As for the others who headed dynasties that are not their own… There is that.

I like the current naming scheme, so I hope even though people are free to use any name, that they respect the informal rules we have set so far. (Just so nobody names their dynasty “The Eleventh Dynasty of The Awesome Roujo” when they haven’t won a single one before. =P)

So as long as people generally stick to what has been done so far,  for

for Roujo was Emperor, technically speaking, but that was in Kevan’s seventh dynasty, not his current eighth.

for I was all for tagging Qwaz’s as the *enter number here* Dynasty of Qwaz/1.5th Dynasty of Darknight.

But I still think that this is the 8th dynasty of Kevan.

I think the 7th seems fairer; I shouldn’t get an extra one just for being absent-minded.

Roujo: he/him

Well, what dynasty did I win then? If this is still the Seventh, maybe it’s “The Second Seventh Dynasty of Kevan” =P

Klisz:

Darknight: That was Wak’s, not Qwaz’s.

Bucky:

Kevan: Properly speaking, the Fifth Metadynasty should be the Sixth Dynasty of Kevan since it had exactly one Leader.
