Proposal: When in doubt, use brute force

Timed out (6-1 with 4 unresolved deferential)

The nation of Rand McNally engaged in a brutal civil war.  Brother was pitted against brother.  The two sides remain divided to this day…
Part 1:
Amend Rule 2.2 so that the text:

Rand McNally (Considered by most bookmakers to be our fiercest competition. In Rand McNally, they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people!)

is revised to read:

Rand. In Rand , they wear hats on their feet.!)  Rand can never compete in an event in which McNally competes.
McNally.  In McNally, hamburgers eat people!) McNally can never compete in an event in which Rand competes.

Part 2: Upon the adoption of this proposal, the GNDT will be appropriately revised to delete the entry for Rand McNally and to add separate entries for Rand and McNally.  Upon the adoption of this proposal, half of Rand McNally’s medals of each category (gold, silver, bronze), rounding down to the nearest whole number of medals, will be transferred to the new team of Rand, and all of Rand McNally’s remaining medals will be transferred to the new team of McNally.  Rand McNally will cease to be a rival or a team.

Next are you going to want to split the other countries into Klod and Stan or Exalabur and Homeland? =P

against I don’t see any upside of having more compeditors, 3 is a good number imho.

This makes it easier for us to win, because medals are split.

Also, because Rand and McNally will never compete in the same event, the number of competitors virtually remains three.

Let me argue for my proposal.  The current ruleset is stacked against the Blognomic team in a number of ways: for now, whenever there is an event in which individual Olympians (as opposed to teams) are eligible to compete, any Medal that is not won by an Olympian is won by a rival _team_.  Likewise, whenever there is an event in which the Blognomic team as a whole is eligible to compete, any Medal that is not won by the Blognomic team is won by a rival team.  So the rival teams have many more chances to win medals than either individual Olympians or the Blognomic team.

Secondly, the attributes of rival competitors on rival teams are made up by Clucky, pretty much arbitrarily.  Clucky has as much as admitted that on some occasions in the past, the rival teams or competitors were overpowered.

This proposal remedies some of the past harm and dilutes the rivals by a little bit going forward, to try to balance things a little better.

imperial  I think it’s funny, but that’s not the only consideration.

I create events expecting others to sign up for them. Of course when no one but one person signs up for an event, rivals are going to win events. I try to keep rival stats balanced with the current stats held by you guys. If its that easy, why don’t you guys suggest some events, or balanced rivals when I post ideas. <_<

imperial Nothing wrong with it, but it doesn’t solve anything by itself, either.

Is clucky going to actually vote so that all those imperial  votes don’t go uncounted?

That’s okay, it just barely passes at time out. (6-1-4)
