Rewrite the rule Characters as follows:

Characters are publicly-tracked entities that have a name, an Icon, which can be any unicode character, and a Disposition, which may only hold Symbols and is blank by default. As a Weekly Action, the Board Historian may create a new Character with an Icon that is neither an existing Symbol nor an existing Icon, and a name of their choosing that is not the name of any Player or any word that exists in the ruleset.

As a daily action, a Player may carry out one of the following two actions: they may either add their own Symbol to the Disposition of a single Character, or they may add the Icon of a Character to an empty cell in the Grid of the current game.

When a Character’s Icon occupies a Cell in the Grid then, for the purposes of matching Symbols, it counts as every Symbol in its Disposition simultaneously.

In the rule The Grid, change the fourth paragraph to read as follows:

When one or more Players form an unbroken vertical, horizontal, or diagonal row of three or more of their Symbol anywhere on the board, the round ends, and the player or players that formed a complete row gain 1 Deed. If it is impossible for any player to make a valid move, the round ends and nobody gains a Deed.
