Proposal: Boxing (not that kind)

Timed out and enacted, 3-1. Josh

Add a new subrule to the rule Form Sheet, called Box Packing:

* Potential Participants: Bob, Tom, Alice, Burt
* Required Participants: 2
* Potential Outcomes: X Participant wins; Draw
* Method of Resolution: Generate a 6x6 square grid with each space in the grid randomly containing the name of a Participating Participant.  Mark every space that is a part of a line of four spaces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally that all have the same name.  The Participant with the most marked spaces containing their name wins; otherwise, it is a draw.
* Meddling (Repackage): After the board is generated, but before marking, one random space that does not contain their name is changed to their name, if it exists.

Fwiw I would essentially reskin this as actual boxing in the presentation.

It can be if you try hard enough!  It’s not like the other stuff we have are a real sport anywayd

Someone turned *Excel spreadsheets* into a sport.  Anything is possible.

I’d read this as a dynasty where we gamble on pre-existing competitive sports from BlogNomic history. I’d always take creative constraints over “anything is possible”.

The basic mechanic here does work pretty well as an abstraction of controlling the space and lining up punches in a boxing ring, though.

That’s where it started but, you know, nomic.

I will say that I think 8 sports may be too many so letting things sit for a moment before winnowing down to the interesting ones is probably also on the agenda.
