Enact a new rule, “Editors”:-

Each Editor is in charge of a single Newspaper. A Newspaper may have a Name (of no more than 20 letters), which is tracked in the GNDT. If a Newspaper has no Name, its Editor may give it any Name not already in use by another Newspaper.

Enact a new rule, “Stances”:-

A Newspaper may have one or more Stances on the Subjects of War, Science, Government, Royalty, Sport and Celebrity. Each Stance must be either Pro or Anti, and a Newspaper’s Stances are tracked in a GNDT field (eg. “Pro-War, Anti-Science”).

If a Newspaper has fewer than two Stances, its Editor may assign it a new Stance, unless this would result in the Newspaper having two Stances which are the same as two of the Stances of an existing Newspaper.

for Minor issues that should be worked out:

My stances could be Pro-War and Anti-War, seems a little odd.

What happens if I make the Happy Times, then I idle and someone else makes the Happy Times?

for of no more than 20 letters… but no restrictions on the number of miscellaneous characters?

[Clucky] Perhaps; it might turn out to be tactically interesting to have a newspaper covering both sides of a subject, and no others. Idling out and having your title stolen wouldn’t actually break anything here, we’d just have two papers with that title.

[Koen] I originally wrote a longer and more boring definition. We can fix it if anyone makes a deliberately inconvenient title, but I’d hope that the usual social pressures would apply.

Couldn’t someone immediately grab all the stances? Nothing explicitly limits you to two, only keeps you from sharing two.

“If a Newspaper has fewer than two Stances, its Editor may assign it a new Stance”
Since it’s “A new Stance”, I think this would result in Stances being made one at a time, even if you try to do many at once. Then, whenever the “fewer than two Stances” becomes invalid, it would be ilegal to make new ones.

But I’m not 100% sure.
