Proposal: Home Sweet Home

Illegal third proposal - we’re allowed five, but not allowed to make the third one. Flagged by Kevan.

Add a new rule, “Homes”:-

Each Townsperson has a variety of Things in their Home, tracked as a text string in the GNDT under “Home”. This string is composed of a series of characters, with multiple instances of Things being represented with multiple instances of that character. Valid Things are:

  • @: Human.
  • A: Animal.
  • F: Furniture.
  • b: Book.
  • m: Meat.
  • v: Vegetable.
  • $: Money.
  • X: Plague.

If a Townsperson’s Home has no Things in it, that Townsperson may add one Human and one non-Human Thing to that Home, at any time.

imperial I know we have time to put some meat to this rule, but I am unsure about the last sentence when we don’t have a clue about the coming mechanics right now.

If - quite rightly - you aren’t sure what the best choice would be, there’s no rule compelling you to make that decision yet.

Oh, wait, is this illegal because I can’t make proposals if “the Crewmember already has 2 Proposals pending”? Even though Pace says I “may have up to five pending proposals”, there’s no way for me to get the third. (The “supersedes any provision set out in rule 1.5” means well but I suspect makes no difference.)

Everybody else seems to have conspicuously stopped at two proposals this week.

I’d say while the dynastic rule supercedes the core rule per “Prioritisation” (2), the two rules do not contradict each other.

The wording “may have up to 5 pending proposals” does not allow you to create the third.

Fair enough, I’ll mark this as illegal. Maybe it’s worth self-killing one of my others to get a slot back - we really could do with getting some kind of gameplay in place over the weekend.
