Proposal: Jobs(Revision of Occupations and credits to Josh with Suggestion)

1 to 6. Less than Quorum not voting against. Failed by Derrick

Adminned at 17 Aug 2020 02:59:47 UTC

Add the following to the ruleset as a new role called Jobs

Each Pathfinder has a Job, which is tracked on the Pathfinders wiki page and defaults to “none”. If a Pathfinder’s Job is “none” then they may set it to one of the following:

  • Leader (of which there may only be 1 of)
  • Second in command (of which there may only be 1 of)
  • Botanist
  • Physicist
  • Chemist
  • Researcher
  • Journalist

I’d add the first line “Add the following to the ruleset as a new role called Jobs”

You can edit this proposals until it is 2h old or someone has voted, whichever is first

It seems that Leader is chosen by whomever gets it first?

For now, the leader is anyone. if Lead Deer passes, leaders will switch around and when the mantle has been passed they will default to none again.

At this point in the game its easy to change things.

I’m not sure how we’d resolve the situation where one Pathfinder claimed Leader under this rule, then another gained Prestige and became Leader through the earlier method proposed at Lead Deer.

I think (per “A Pathfinder who has a choice in whether to take an action defined by a dynastic rule may not take that action if both of the following conditions are true: a) the action’s effects are limited to changing values tracked in gamestate-tracking entities (such as a wiki page), and b) the action would change one or more of those values to an illegal value.”) it’d be illegal to gain the Prestige, since it would change the gamestate to a group that had two Leaders. So it would be illegal to take the Application action if you rolled “Productive” against a Mineral, and the action would have to be abandoned and restarted until a different result is rolled.

against Making it illegal to gain Prestige seems discouraging at this point.
