Add a new rule called “Backdoor Alpha”
If a proposal specifies a dynastic rule as a “Long Term Rule” then the value of “X” when establishing its Death Date should be the current date plus 21 rather than 14
If a proposal specifies a dynastic rule as a “Short Term Rule” then the value of “X” when establishing its Death Date should be the current date plus 7 rather than 14
21 days is basically a full dynasty, I’d rather we leaned into the idea.
I feel like I might be able to get behind the short-term addition, though.
@Kevan most dynasties tend to go for more like 4-5 weeks in my experience.
Right you can’t really have parent mechanics outlive children.
So with something like locations… think it would be more interesting if you could have locations that die off before the location rule itself does.
[Clucky] I don’t know if the (probably self-fulfilling) average of a month still stands, we should run the numbers again some time. But by the time that the first Long Term Rule enacts, it’ll have a Death Date that’s 26 days into the dynasty.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.

As mentioned in Discord, “plus 21” and “plus 7” sort of implies days due to referencing “rather than 14” but isn’t explicit about it.
