Self-killed. -Bucky

In the rule Spelling, change

The terms “Emperor” and “Player” are synonyms.

to

The text in this rule in quotation marks is flavour text. If it is not the Seventh Dynasty of Bucky, any Emperor may remove all of the text in this rule that is not in quotation marks (including the quotation marks themselves). “The terms Emperor and Player are synonyms.”

I like the premise of this dynasty but we’ve accidentally destroyed the fundamental difference between the main player roles.

Yes, that does mean that until this proposal passes anybody can veto any proposal. Go nuts.

Ah! Fortunately we fixed this last time someone picked “Player” as a word, by restricting the terms an ascending Emperor could select from: they can’t choose “any words in a form in which they already appear in the non-dynastic Ruleset”.

I think this means that Players are Emperors (since the word “Emperor” never appeared in Core at the time of Ascension), and the Emperor is still the Poindexter (since “Player” appeared in Core).

Reading the Ascension rule I think it might be the case that neither renaming took effect and we’re still Pilots under a Poindexter. We’ve got:-

”...may optionally specify that the terms “Poindexter” and “Pilot” will be replaced with theme-specific terms throughout the entire Ruleset (where the replacement terms are different, and neither includes any words in a form in which they already appear in the non-dynastic Ruleset)...”

Bucky’s specification of these new terms failed as a whole, because the statement didn’t meet the criteria.

against self-killing this as it’s clear that a bigger fix is needed.
