Ok, then, they could take two houses off the market at Reserve price, every three days. Basically, Auctions converted into two man team snipes, with first come first serve for the best/cheapest houses.

Which sounds like an interesting mechanic, to be honest, but it’s opaque that that’s what we’re voting for. And I’m sure it wasn’t what was intended.

I mean, it’s still a somewhat motivated assessment; you yourself have demonstrated that buying houses above the reserve price is a strategy that you can deliberately pursue. Even outside of that strategy there’s almost always a gap between reserve price and likely sale price where a buyer can make a considered profit. This proposal introduces a cost but doesn’t close off that strategy, so portraying it as an avenue to a total lockout is a little mendacious.
