Proposal: Ruleset Reorganization

timed out 5-0 enacted by card

Adminned at 25 Sep 2017 19:15:58 UTC

Create a new rule called “Exchanges” and add the following text, replacing A with the first paragraph of the rule “Theft”, B with the second paragraph of the rule “Theft”, C with the text in the rule “Returning Nouns”, and D with the text in the rule “Removing Nouns”.

Exchanges manipulate the noun content of the Katamari and/or the inventory. Actions that count as exchanges include:

  • Steal: A
  • Return: C
  • Remove: D
  • Pick up: By spending 1 Stamina, a Prince can Take a Word, adding to their inventory a noun or adjective which exists at the Katamari’s current Location.
  • Drop: A Prince can remove any item from their inventory.
  • Pickpocket: B
In the rule “Inventory”, remove the following text:
By spending 1 Stamina, a Prince can Take a Word, adding to their inventory a noun or adjective which exists at the Katamari’s current Location. At-will, a Prince can remove an item from their inventory.
Repeal the rules “Theft”, “Returning Nouns” and “Removing Nouns”.

I’m reproposing this rule. Hopefully I eliminated all the mistakes that prevented the other one from passing.

for Is there a specific reason for collectively calling these ‘exchanges’ or is it meant to be just a narrative introduction to what the rule is about?

No, I just think that “Exchanges” sums up what these do pretty well. You can take an item from the Katamari, give things back, drop things… Okay, I guess you never really exchange things… Nevertheless, I think it’s a good word for these anyway. It’s easy to remember and gives a kind of idea of what they do.
