Why was Josh able to recalculate the results of the bout during hiatus?

Whether he formally can or not doesn’t really have any bearing on the victory. If he’s able to informally state that the results of the bout were wrong, the first DoV naturally gets voted down and this would open the way for a formal recalculation. Since that formal recalculation would go in my favour, there’s no real point in waiting for it to occur before making my own DoV.

Technically we should have failed Brendan’s dov, recalced formally outside of hiatus, and then put this up; but the rules on posting DoVs only require that SB believe he has achieved victory, and our voting on it only requires the same level of confidence, so this is also fine.

I would like to add on that SB believing he won is also 100% valid, because as I understand it, the correct sequence of events was always what happened, the writeup just happened to temporarily be wrong. In other words, I think this is enough of a grey area that it doesn’t really matter. To be safe, a cfj would be guaranteed to be legal, but it’s close enough as is.
