Proposal: The Sigil/Glyph Exclusion Principle

Passes 5-0. Enacted by Brendan.

Adminned at 28 Jul 2021 00:20:49 UTC

In “Glyphs and Sigils”, change the sentence starting

If a room contains a Sigil

to

A Vampire Lord cannot create a Glyph in a room, nor be added to a Glyph in that room, if they have a Sigil in that room. A Vampire Lord cannot engrave a Sigil in a room if they own a Glyph in that room.

A hopefully scam-free fix to the Glyph/Sigil rule, allowing us to start creating Glyphs again.

Because this is a change rather than a clarification, I’m writing it as a proposal rather than a CFJ.

This will be nonsensical if Agree to Disagree passes.

Also, again, blognomic is not agora; it is acceptable here to make ruleset fixes via CfJ; please stop trying to impose agoran interpretations on is by asserting them over and over again.

This has nothing to do with Agora – Agora doesn’t have anything that corresponds to a BlogNomic CFJ (Agora’s CFJs are quite different).

This is down to what I understand, and believe many other people understand, the purpose of a CFJ is at BlogNomic – recovering when things are broken, and clarifying that which is ambiguous. Because proposal slots can be a precious tactical resource sometimes, it makes sense to discourage people from just using a CFJ for everything, rather than using proposals for changes to how the rules work – otherwise the queue system would have no purpose at all.

(Also, this was worded to work even if Agree to Disagree passes.)
