Call for Judgment: Blatant Violation

Destroyed by compromise—Rodlen

Adminned at 18 Dec 2008 22:20:11 UTC

All Characters are clearly in violation of the secret rule because no Character changed eir Relationship as specified.

If this CfJ passes, replace each Character’s Relationship with 0 minus eir Relationship.

for I was going to post a CfJ like this one.

against Yes, this is the way it should have been.  However, I feel that we would still be violating the Secret Rule with this.  We would not with my CfJ.

Rodlen:

Basically, my CfJ nullifies the Secret Rule, this one makes the effects occur as intended, but leaving the events still having to occur, meaning it would have to be cleared up by CfJ…neverending mess.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 01:45:44 UTC

If this CfJ passes, then we would still be violating the Secret Rule, as this CfJ didn’t say that it was doing the action of the Secret Rule, but a different action with the same results.

Then I would CfJ in another reversal while we still have trouble with the illegal action.  Eventually, I could win through this.

eljefe:

19-12-2008 01:56:45 UTC

Yes, we would have violated the secret rule.

And then we would have fixed it. Then, the ruleset would dictate that Smith dies and we go to a metadynasty.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 01:58:58 UTC

This CfJ just says to do an action. It does not say to treat that as having done the Secret Rule’s action.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 02:08:46 UTC

Plus, the secret rule was made at a time when I was extremely far ahead in both relationship and plot points.  It made me unable to win by any means, as I was too far ahead in relationship to be able to effectively reverse it.

Kind of an anti-Rodlen rule.

I do think it was in poor taste for the secret rule to be created that has the basic intention of preventing Rodney from winning.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 02:20:57 UTC

Rodlen.  My name is RODLEN.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 02:21:18 UTC

RodNEY is idle.

Klisz:

19-12-2008 02:23:35 UTC

There’s a player named Rodney?

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 02:24:34 UTC

He is idle.

Klisz:

19-12-2008 02:32:32 UTC

Yeah, but I just never heard of him, even though I’ve heard of Masked Jedi and peacefulwarrior by looking at the idle character list.

Klisz:

By the way, Yoda, how do you know someone beat me to it? This is an anonymous CfJ. For all you know, I posted it.

Yoda:

19-12-2008 02:35:47 UTC

The intention of the secret rule was never against Rodlen.  It just so happened that at the time it was put in the ruleset at a time when Rodlen had such a commanding lead.  The idea was there before his lead had much sway in what happened to Jason.

In other words, I never meant this as a direct attack against Rodlen.

Rodlen:

19-12-2008 02:37:31 UTC

Well, the first proposal was made at a time when I was extremely ahead of everyone.

Yoda:

19-12-2008 02:48:08 UTC

I’m sorry you feel that I was out to get you this whole dynasty.

Klisz:

19-12-2008 02:48:20 UTC

Spikebrennan, Gnauga, Zuff, Kaddar, you all must come and vote FOR, so that we may end this madness and begin a metadynasty.

In favor of the CfJ above.  Secret rule doesn’t matter, according to the rules, that isn’t the secret rule.

kaddar:

Darth Cliche:  As much as I’d like to see the next dynasty (preferably, meta, as was described previously), begin, I also want to see it pass fairly, and it seems this secret rule is invalid re:checksum?

The rules don’t require the checksum to match.

(It would just be helpful if it did.)
