I think the story should end when Haniver is sunk (It’s not like you can fix a sunk ship or continue the hunt while floating on a piece of wood on the waves).

Then everyone picks “Abandon Ship” instead of “Stay Afloat”.

It’s most advantageous if its almost 50-50 imo. Like that it’s more interesting and there’s more opportunities to get points (and have others lose it).

Also, since there’s now the Religious incentive to take Stay Afloat, more people probably will pick/have picked it and will cooperate, so there’s not that much of a chance that the ship will sink.

True, but your argument there applies to your own suggestion as well. Wouldn’t it being straight up guaranteed be worse than it being up to likely future collaboration?

Probably better if it ends around this time but at an unpredictable point, though, to remove the incentive for players to perform last minute actions (eg. the Captain kicking everyone out of their Positions to negate all Advance goals) at 08:21:59.

against CoV. Too soon. with 12 events planned, and half of them aimed at punishing aimless sailors, there is no way any of the “productive” goals will be accomplished. There will be 3 chances for a hunt, and three opportunities to pick up gold.
