Proposal: Failure Unrelated

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 26 Jan 2015 09:12:58 UTC

Remove the following text from the rule “Missions”:

Each System whose Severity is not “None” has a 50% chance of having its Severity incremented.

If a majority of EVCs contain the word “weak”, replace it with the following:

A random other System has a 50% chance of having its Severity incremented if its Severity is not “None”.

Succeeding a mission should at the very least ensure that the mission doesn’t cause that System’s Severity to increase anyway, and shouldn’t cause multiple failures either.

for The original “every 72 hours forever” did seem a bit strong.

Oh, wait, I misread that and missed that it was a “this, or maybe this” EVC.

against because I don’t know what I’m voting on until more people have voted. We should name this paradox after somebody.

“a majority of EVCs” does this imply “a majority of EVCs on this proposal”? Also I’m not sure if it’s clear enough what the “random other System” refers to. I think it’s supposed to be a random System other than the Mission’s System, but maybe that should be cleared up. I support the first variety of the Proposal though. against per Kevan.

At this point, with voting 4-0 (or very large-not so large for the unbounded interpretation) for non-weak, it’s unlikely that the second version will happen.
