Proposal: Fermat’s Wager [Victory]

Reached quorum 6 votes to 2, with 1 DEF. Enacted by Kevan. With a roll of 79, Kevan achieves victory.

Adminned at 12 Aug 2020 12:09:01 UTC

The enacting admin shall roll a single DICE100:

  • On a result of 1-41, the Gambler named Pokes has achieved victory;
  • on 42-82, the Gambler named Kevan has achieved victory;
  • on 83-92, the Gambler named Jumble has achieved victory;
  • on 93-94 the Gambler named Cuddlebeam has achieved victory;
  • on 95-96 the Gambler named derrick has achieved victory;
  • on 97-98 the Gambler named Josh has achieved victory;
  • on 99-100 the Gambler named Zyborg has achieved victory.

Variation on the plan discussed in Another Way, being statistically equivalent to doling out further Plaques at random among the active players (excluding those who have taken little or no action in the game).

ExpressionEngine nervously stripped out the apostrophe. I’ve created a redirect, so the link will work now.

[Josh] Unless you have a good scam or game-changing proposal up your sleeve, the gameplay at this point is pretty much just “slowly win points, being careful not to let anyone get 20 points ahead of the pack, and when you’re among those in the lead, make a deal with some other players to roll to Distract your immediate rivals, which may or may not work, rinse and repeat”.

There’s so much randomness in the Distraction rolls and so much luck required to time them right (optimum play is to log into the die roller exactly 12 hours after the previous game action and immediately spin the wheel while your accomplices stand by) that I’d rather see one massive equivalent die rolled now, than lots of smaller dice over however many days or weeks it takes. The victory will be a “well done on that lucky roll!” whichever way we go.

against because I think this is finishable within a few days. If Jumble gets the next plaque, I would be in for settling it at 1/3 each, because then we’re looking at a few weeks.
