Proposal: First, Change the Universe

Reword the sentence in the rule “Divergence” that reads “The Alpha Ruleset applies only to the Alpha Universe and to those Scientists who are located in it, and the Prime Ruleset applies only to the Prime Universe and to those Scientists who are located in it” to read:

The effects of rules in the Alpha Ruleset apply only to the Alpha Universe and to those Scientists who are located in it, and the effects of rules in the Prime Ruleset apply only to the Prime Universe and to those Scientists who are located in it, unless such a rule specifically states that it has an effect on both Universes or the Scientists therein.

Per commentary on “Grand Theft Portal.” I think prrrobably the specificity-precedence rule handles this, but it can’t hurt to clarify. (Also need to think about how a daily/weekly action that’s specified in multiple universe-rulesets works; are they different actions, such that a given player can take one of each per day?)

On the other hand, this doesn’t free us up to play around with different, possibly broken voting schemes for each universe.

That may be a much bigger fix though.

In my view, they are: separate rulesets means separate rules, even if the rules are identical. Therefore, separate actions.
