In “Escapement”, replace “Each Player has a number of Quartzes, tracked in the GNDT and defaulting to zero.” with:-

Each Player has a number of Quartzes, tracked in the GNDT and defaulting to the arithmetic mean of the Quartzes (rounding up) of every other Player.

If any Players joined the game or unidled while this proposal was pending, set each of those Players’ Quartzes to the arithmetic mean of the Quartzes (rounding up) of the Players who did not join or unidle while this proposal was pending.
