Call for Judgment: Imaginary Fish

Passes 12-0. —Brendan

Adminned at 14 Nov 2010 08:27:04 UTC

When enacting One Golden Glance of What Should Be, Brendan explained “I’ve given Blacky and Ambisinister Toothfish Enchantment effects, since their lingering effects were destroyed but they cast legal spells; CfJ if you disagree.”

I disagree. The proposal explicitly removed lingering effects, but didn’t award any replacement Enchantments. Giving out a couple of free Enchantments might have been fair to these two players (if unfair to anyone who read the rule closely and chose not to cast a Toothfish), but it simply wasn’t legal under the ruleset we’re playing by.

Well, that’s not going to ever smell quite right again. At least it was laminated for Mr. Cruik’s class. Who’d have thought a Toothfish would have so much blood? Or be quite so resilient? I’m not even sure why the ritual mating dance would ever be used, who wants to put up with that?Hmmm, no more sandal wood or even old sandals at this point. Plus, it has done unthinkable things to my candles, which really don’t even look like Toothfish, but he was very amorous if, apparently, not too bright, so any port in a storm I guess. Or 14 ports. With no discernible orifices. Creeeepyyy Toothfish now that I think about it. All in all probably more of a gain than a loss really. At least it’s the weekend, so I should be OK without, plus the school store will be open again on Monday… Hey, what’s this? I can just enchant myself with the protective qualities of the Toothfish without actually calling one? But, why wasn’t that in my… Oh ho, Previous Text Book Owner, somebody seems to think they were quite the comedian. I wonder if they track alumni…. for

(however, note that the suspended effect of Toothfish 1.0 will still happen, even though it’s no longer in the rules!)

Bucky:  No, it won’t.  Kevan’s proposal was enacted, and part of its text was “Destroy any lingering ‘the next time the caster’ effects created by the previous version of these rules.”
