To “Run Initialisation”, add:-
A single piece of Treasure may be stashed in the Cathedral: this is publicly tracked.
Add a step after the first to Richardo’s Journey:-
If the Cathedral has a piece of Treasure stashed, it is no longer stashed and Richardo begins holding it.
And add a step before “He retreats…”:-
If Richardo is holding any Treasure, a random piece of it is stashed in the Cathedral.
Something for us to prepare for, each run. Initially wanted to give each character their own separate stash, so that they’ll develop a bit of individual flavour without us having to agree what that is, but the “this selection is purely to add colour” clause feels too load-bearing to casually remove.

I’d be fine making the character choice pertinent; the “add colour” clause was just there to ensure that no-one argued that Richardo wasn’t Richardo for the sake of the rest of the ruleset, but that can be worded much more economically.
